Worth your salt: spalted chestnut & oak salt & pepper dishes

A chunky two-dish block for salt and pepper, or whichever spices and herbs you reach for most. The top is spalted chestnut, where the fungus has drawn black lines through the grain. The dishes are cut right through it, so the dark oak base forms the floor of each one. It's weighty enough to stay put on the worktop, and a good gift for anyone who takes their cooking seriously. No two are the same.

Approx. 20 x 10 x 6cm, with two dishes, each 7cm wide. Spalted chestnut top, oak base and dish floors.

Finished with Odie's oil: a food-safe, solvent-free wood finish that nourishes and protects the wood. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, keep it out of the dishwasher, and re-oil occasionally.
