Ordnance: spalted beech and soft black resin serving / display board

£110.00Price

Spalted beech (40 x 22cm) either side of a straight channel of soft black resin, with a second, smaller run branching off where the resin has filled a natural split. Spalting is what happens when fungus works its way into the wood before it's dried, leaving those dark, inky lines that wander across the grain. Here they look like contours on a map, and the resin runs through them like a road. Hang it on the wall, put it down the middle of the table with a few candles, or bring it out for cheese. It's equally at home doing any of the three.

Finished with Odie's oil: a food-safe, solvent-free wood finish that nourishes and protects both wood and resin, bringing out the natural beauty in every curve and swirl.
