Nightcap: yew and black diamond resin serving / display board

A small square of yew (15cm square), cut so the growth rings ripple right across it, with a flush of pink and purple round a knot and the live edge left on. It's set in black diamond resin, a charcoal grey with a fine sparkle, which makes the warm orange of the yew glow. Just the right size for a wedge of cheese and a glass of something, or to sit on a shelf being admired. As it's yew, it's made for serving rather than chopping.

Finished with Odie's oil: a food-safe, solvent-free wood finish that nourishes and protects both wood and resin, bringing out the natural beauty in every curve and swirl.
