Midwinter: oak and gold resin serving / display board with holly leaves

A thick, round oak board (30cm diameter), with burr oak on one side, split by a winding river of gold resin with real holly leaves set inside. I topped it up with a layer of clear resin, so the leaves sit beneath the surface as if they're held in ice, each one framed in gold. Made for the Christmas table: in the middle with candles around it, or brought out with the cheese after lunch. And it doesn't have to go back in the box in January, because it looks just as good on the wall.

Finished with Odie's oil: a food-safe, solvent-free wood finish that nourishes and protects both wood and resin, bringing out the natural beauty in every curve and swirl.
