Lapis: walnut and blue resin serving / display board

A big board of walnut (60 x 27cm), mostly the pale, creamy sapwood, darkening to rich brown where it meets the resin. A river of deep blue resin runs along one edge, with a second pool set into the wood where a hollow used to be, both shot through with a fine sparkle like stars on a clear night. At 60cm it's the largest board in this batch: a serious centrepiece for a long table, or a piece of art that happens to be able to carry the cheese.

Finished with Odie's oil: a food-safe, solvent-free wood finish that nourishes and protects both wood and resin, bringing out the natural beauty in every curve and swirl.
