First frost: oak and resin serving / display board with red acer leaves

Burr oak (37 x 20cm), its live edge running alongside a river of resin with red acer leaves set inside, from deep crimson to soft coral. A hint of emerald lux sits in the background, and a clear layer on top holds the leaves just beneath the surface, like leaves caught in a puddle on the first cold morning. The oak is full of burr, with clusters of dark pips and knots. Bring it out with cheese now, and when the trees are bare, hang it on the wall and keep autumn going.

Finished with Odie's oil: a food-safe, solvent-free wood finish that nourishes and protects both wood and resin, bringing out the natural beauty in every curve and swirl.
