Blackwater: yew and black diamond resin serving / display board

Two pieces of yew (38 x 23cm), their live edges left on either side of a river of black diamond resin, a deep charcoal with a fine sparkle and slow, smoky swirls through the middle. The yew is shot through with flushes of pink and purple, and the knots and splits are filled with the same resin, as if the river has seeped into the wood. Bring it out with cheese and let it start the conversation, or give it a wall of its own. As it's yew, it's made for serving rather than chopping.

Finished with Odie's oil: a food-safe, solvent-free wood finish that nourishes and protects both wood and resin, bringing out the natural beauty in every curve and swirl.
