After taking redundancy in March 2021, I discovered a passion for wood working. It all started as a way to manage my mental health and it's grown exponentially since then. Being able to embrace my creativity, and doing something that's so hands on, is incredibly rewarding. It really has become my version of minfulness and helps me swap the noise in my head for noise in my ears!

Having started by building a garden bar and a wendy house, I'm so proud that now have a real business, repeat custoimers and I have even been on TV! On pretty much every project I will  learn something. The whole experience has taught me to not fear failure, to give things a go and if it goes wrong, make it into something else.

Running a small business (alongside a "day job" working with lawyers and accountants), has most certainly been a challenge, but I wouldn't change it. Giving myself the opportunity to both use my brain and flex my creative muscle is a wonderful balance. I am always looking for ways to improve and develop; what will happen next year??
